This garden was build on a disused farm yard. 400 tons of compacted hardcore were removed from the planting areas and replaced with topsoil, which had gravel mixed in to promote free drainage. Planting was dressed with a stone and gravel mulch and themed to mimic a Mediterranean Maquis/Shrub-Steppe style.
Backbone planting included Salix elaeagnos, Myrtus communis/Tarantino, Tamerix, Cotinus and Griselinia. Grasses included Calamagrostis Karl Foerster and Stipa gigantica. Perennials include Achillea, Verbena bonariensis and Echinacea, herbs and sub-shrubs include Lavandula Grosso, Rosmarinus prostrata, Perovskia Blue Spire and Euphorbia Wulfenii.
